Cozumel was breathtaking.
Kentucky was my first real stop on my adventure.
I spent every evening sitting on the porch with a dog named Darby.
She would run into this field to chase animals multiple times an hour.
One evening she didn’t come back for awhile so I went into the field to find her.
I heard a horrid noise and stumbled upon a bunch of starlings in the trees.
It’s funny how living in New York will cause you to forget what normal things in nature sound like.
I captured this as I slowly sunk into the mud in the field watching these birds sway from tree to tree.
My journey has started. I am currently in Crofton, Kentucky where I have no cell service or the ability to use the internet. It has been a beautiful peaceful three days here. I start my mornings with a cup of coffee called mudd then I sit on the porch with Darby. Then I wander back to the horse farm that is a quick walk from the house and spend a healthy amount of time there. Brett’s house is filled with books. Almost every wall is lined with incredible books. I studied Sally Mann, Brett Eugene Meatyard and Bresson yesterday.
I move on to Denver tomorrow morning.
I will definitely miss how secluded I have been here.
Here is a cell phone image from the horse farm.
I’ll update with real images when I am back in New York.
